As seen at my mother-in-law’s
A Costco run and it’s dragging the tow hitch that for some reason is installed on that venza

Is that Ridgeline blue? It looks just like the one we have in our driveway, but our driveway is rather flat.

I don't fully understand why they didn't sell a billion of those

Yup, Honda's very nice sapphire blue that I wish our pilot was

It was ahead of its time.

They’d better have a damn good drainage system on that driveway

That driveway must be a bitch and a half when it's icy out.

Judging by MiL driveway.....no, absolutely not

This community has many many driveways like this, and many worse (this, but not straight). We’re in Virginia, but minutes from west Virginia, so winter’s ar e real here. Most park a car on the street when it’s winter

The tow hitch is probably there to save the rear bumper from the inevitable ripping off that would happen without it. It could also be there to mount a bike rack, but you’d have to park on the street before you could install it.

How does the garage not flood in heavy rain?
![]() 05/17/2020 at 19:24 |

I don't have an answer. Unless the drain is inside behind the door, but why?

Oof, I wonder how much landscaping would have been needed during the construction phase to prevent this result. Methinks the extra cost would have been worth it.

Could be worse! Only a short Jeep could get in these. Fun fact, Venza sounds like toilet seat in Japanese according to my wife, sort of a Bvenza sound. Funny how Toyota thought that was a good idea, they don’t sell that car in Japan anyway.

From my neighborhood growing up, view straight into the 2nd floor from the road, plus a downward s-curve

A driveway like this would be a deal-killer even on a dream house, unless it could be rebuilt.
I recall the fintail’s prior owner had a driveway like this, and you had to manuever the car at a particular angle when entering or leaving, or the car would scrape its butt in an aggravating manner.

Whaaaa. Why don’t they just move the sidewalk closer to the street and slightly higher up so there is a semi reasonable grade? Or just put the garage in the basement?
Reminds me of this boat launch access road I saw. No way can you get back up again.

That’s a house with a basement flooding problem. My dad told me to always buy a house on the top of a hill. I didn’t listen with the first one, I have since then. It was good advice.

Like this is really the only and actual answer. Just like the FJ, they should totally bring those 2 vehicles back.

I would not buy a house like that. I just imagine it getting flooded after a hard rain.

These are literally Cobb and Paulding County driveways for homes built between 1990 and 2005.
But make them steeper! Then, you have a better picture.

Yeah I guess you could carry a kayak down there, I don’t think I’d back a power boat down that.

Had one. It was a great car. Stone reliable, comfortable, well equipped, versatile, and even a subtle amount of style, especially compared with newer Toyotas, and almost all Lexus.
The only reason I went for a Grand Cherokee afterward is for the better occaisional off-road chops after I moved to a more rural area.

No I can’t imagine that I would either. I would just launch it somewhere else and sail to the dock.

Elsewhere in the neighborhood. Notice the roof at road level behind the first roof

There's stuff just like that in this neighborhood

I’ve seen driveways that steep only on occasion. Here’s a moderately steep on that seems like it could have been better. I’ve seen much worse.

I've seen the second one many times, but that first one is even worse!

They were probably required to put the sidewalk there by local zoning code.

I had an E90 335i with the M-Sport package and that would have wrecked it’s bumper every which way.
